3) Packaging

Your products will be delivered in their original packaging, with the exception of mixed cases and gift orders these will be delivered in ChateauOnline cartons.
For Primeur wines, orders of 6 bottles will be delivered in ChateauOnline cartons, for those of 12 bottles the packaging will be that of the Chateau it comes from. Normally this will be a wooden box with the makers name on it.

4) Receiving your orders

Deliveries are made between 9am and 6pm, Monday-Friday.
There will be two attempts at delivery, normally you will be contacted about the delivery beforehand.

Before you accept the delivery of the package you are required to sign for it. Please check the package carefully, this signature stands as proof that the products have been delivered in good condition.
If there appears to be any problem with the package don't hesitate to comment on it and a note will be made before you sign for it.For example, if the package seems damp.

You have the right to refuse to accept, a package and to inform our customer services that it will be returned to us, if you require it a new package will be sent out to replace the erraneous, broken or damaged one.

If you are not present for delivery, the delivery company will leave a slip telling you that the first attempt has been unsuccesful. On this slip there will be a telephone number with which you can contact the delivery man to arrange re-delivery.

You should store your wine at a moderate temperature, somewhere where the temperature will not change drastically, away from vibrations or light.
You can leave your bottles in the ChateauOnline cartons that they arrive in (unless storing them in a humid area), they should always be kept horizontal.

It is best not to taste your wines until a few days after delivery, for younger wines 24-48 hours will suffice, for older wines, we reccommend a week. If you do not wish to wait any time then you can always place the wine in the fridge for a while before serving it at the reccommended temperature. This is in order to allow the wines to 'settle' after transport.

5) Primeurs Delivery

How are Primeur wines delivered?

  • If I have only made one Primeur order.:

As soon as the wines are ready to be sent out we will send you an e-mail, this asks you to confirm your delivery address and informs you of the tax and delivery charges that will apply. You can pay by bank or credit card.
Once we have received confirmation of your address and payment you will receive an email of confirmation. Normally delivery will be in 2-4 weeks from the date of payment. Primeur wines are very delicate, due to the fragile and rare nature of the wines, therefore we have a spcialist way of ensuring they arrive safely with a set delivery charge of 19.90€ (No matter how few or many bottles are ordered.).

  • If I have made more than one Primeur order:

You will receive an e-mail for each separate order. This does not include different Primeur wines that are made on the same order as these will be delivered together. However if you order your Primeur wines separately then you may receive a separate delivery for each order. Each e-mail will therefore request that you pay the tax and delivery and confirm the delivery address. From the date the final part of the payment of taxes and delivery charges has been paid delivery will take 2-4 weeks.

If after 3 months of receiving the first email notifying you that the wines are now available you have not contacted us we will be obligated to charge a storage fee of 0.15€ per bottle per month

  • I wish to have the products delivered duty to free to a bonded warehouse:
This procedure concerns those living in England or outside of Europe.
In the same way as for all deliveries of Primeur wines you will receive e-mails asking you to confirm your delivery address..
You wil also need to provide us with further information regarding your VAT number and account reference number.
Our customer services will verify theses details and will contact you several days later to arrange the next stage of delivery and payment. Delivery will take 2-4 weeks.

  • I wish to receive a copy of the bill:

Contact our customer services by e-mail and we will be happy to arrange this for you.
We would liek to inform our customers that orders including Chateaux Rieussec and/or Yquem will not be delivered before May/June as they do not do so until later than others.
